About the Breed
TThe Bengal cat breed was created by crossing an Asian Leopard Cat with a domestic cat, a visionary effort led by Jean Mills of Millwood Bengals in the USA.
Bengals are known for their high energy, playful chatter, and boundless curiosity. They’re affectionate, incredibly intelligent, and remarkably trainable, with a confidence that radiates from their every move. These cats are always alert, as if their minds are constantly racing.
Because of their active and intelligent nature, Bengals aren’t the type of cats that can be left alone for long periods. They thrive in lively, stimulating environments where there’s always something happening. Our experience shows that Bengals form deep bonds with dogs and young children, and it’s heartwarming to watch them interact. They usually get along well with other cats too, embracing anyone or anything that’s up for some fun. We like to think of them as the "party animals" of the cat world—always ready to make a new friend!
However, Bengals generally aren’t fans of being picked up or restrained, making them less suited for those looking for a cuddly lap cat. While they may not enjoy being held, you’ll often find them right beside you, eager to supervise whatever you’re doing. They make excellent "supervisors" and "quality control experts"—especially when there’s food involved!
